Our core faculty possess a wide range of expertise and research interests. We possess degrees in Black Studies, Applied Anthropology, Evaluation, Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts, and History. Our research engages the U.S. South, Barbados, the U.S. Virgin Islands, South Africa, Panama and Cuba. We examine popular culture, gender, armed resistance, mental health, public health, sports and the Black New South. Our publications include both traditional and non-traditional scholarship such as public reports and award-winning films. We are all committed to mentoring our undergraduate and graduate students.
